Important Vocabulary
Reconstruction: This was the time where we had an enormous political, economic, and social rebuilding of the south.
Impeach: To bring charges against to. An example is when a president is impeached for not being a good president.
13th amendment: Freed all slaves in the U.S and abolished slavery and involuntary servitude.
14th amendment: Gave citizenship to all freedmen in the U.S
15th amendment: Gave African American men the right to vote.
Jim Crow laws: Racial segregation laws in the south. These were unfair for African Americans.
